Repliku, pulled from my big-ass KH fic FtPverse, sometime after the series ended.

Goes by "Riku" for reasons involving memory loss and parallel universe shenanigans. (Why pick a new name when you're the only one in this universe named Riku!!)

Replica. Party healer. Physically 16. Technically only 2.

HISTORY.

From my AU FtPverse; The Riku Replica from Kingdom Hearts—as a Replica, is an exact copy of the original Riku, sharing everything with him but memories. The Riku Replica was created by Organization 13, who used him along with Namine (a girl his age) to try and manipulate KH protagonist Sora, by means of a scheme that involved having Namine create false memories for the both of them. All that really resulted in was making him fiercely loyal to Namine and intensely defiant against the Organization, who responded in kind with whatever means necessary to keep him in line. When the Organization was defeated at Sora’s hands, the Riku Replica—well aware he wasn’t the “real” Riku after his memories got rearranged back to normal—decided there was no place in this world for a fake like him, and went to confront the Real Riku, knowing full well it would end in his death.

He didn’t die.

Instead some mysterious stranger who never gave his name or stuck around long saved the Riku Replica from death, depositing him in an alternate universe where a “real” Riku never existed. He washed up on the shores of Destiny Islands with no memories save for the name “Riku”, which he has kept to this day, seeing no reason to change it.

In the new universe, he befriended a new Sora and Kairi, rescued a replica version of Namine that the Organization of this universe created, and after months of struggle that involved a Replica rebellion from the fifty or so Replicas of various Organization members that Vexen created before he died, defeated the Organization for good (with Sora’s help). And also, some things happened with Namine, that he’d… well, the less he has to think about it, the better! Thanks!

From there he’s been adopted by Aerith, and lives in Radiant Garden with her and the rest of her family, and has spent his time learning to heal from his trauma at the hands of the Organization and his journey, as well as carve out a space where he can live a normal life, finally believing he’s not only allowed but deserves to live one.

(Also, the Vexen who created him, from KH “canon”’s universe, hopped universes after him. Their relationship is… complicated.)

⇢ familiar ghosts on unfamiliar faces

The team ends up somewhere that promptly drags up bad memories for all of them, but especially Kratos. Riku spends his time mostly offscreen, him and Dave working together (with the help of a future Dave) to catch up with Shadow and Kratos, who separated from them.

⇢ Team M: Have a feelings jam about boundaries

Kratos brings up his own boundaries regarding being touched, which gives Riku the courage to mention his own. Told from Riku's POV. Features him and Kratos bonding.

⇢ like super mario backflipping up a flight of stairs

Mythra explains to her team what they're doing here. Dave hates it. Riku's... neutral, but wishes someone had asked him first.

⇢ my heart is housed in ironworks (chapter 2)

Kratos needs to decompress after getting separated from the team and going through Some Bullshit. Riku offers help in the ways he can (mostly by giving Kratos a way to communicate and then some fucking space), and then takes a swim in the ocean because it's been. TOO long.

⇢ Shadow: retrieve your power limiters

Shadow's power limiters break. Riku panics, just a little. Also, having been split from their team, Riku and Shadow meet up with a portion of Team A, which includes Namine! Riku's very happy to see her, even if he's not completely sure about her companions. (And very sad he missed Sora.)

Colette approaches Riku about the fact he reminds her of someone. He theorizes about the multiverse.
