Kratos, from YWKON, a TOS/XC2 AU. Er, he's from WBYWKON actually, which is RP shenanigans flavor of YWKON which involves Kratos+Anna+Mithos roadtrip. And also being visited by alternate universe versions of his son and one of his son's friends.
Blade, Flesh eater. Party dad. Physically 28, chronologically over 500.
Eventually he escaped, but he escaped from captivity into a war. A flesh eater, shunned by society, nowhere to go, Kratos decided he had nothing to lose, and went to break the Aegises out; first Martel, then Mithos, so that humanity could never use them as weapons of war again.
They stopped the war, and then went to settle down away from the world. But it didn’t last. Sylvarant’s army came to capture the Aegises again. They failed, but they shattered Martel instead, and took half of her shards, leaving the rest with Mithos. Scared for their lives and quite powerless—after all, they are of legends, and mankind does not want to be told what to do by their heroes—Kratos and Mithos make their home in a tower far away from humanity, where they live their lives in peace, and quiet, and loneliness.
Kratos stumbles on Anna’s village on accident, and finds himself intrigued because the village is a place where blades and mostly blades and more importantly flesh eaters like him are living in peace, and quiet, away from all the trouble of the world. He thinks the place is beautiful, conceptually, and finds himself returning again and again, even as Mithos derides him for it. He meets Anna. He gets to know her. He learns to trust her. He falls in love with her. They get married. They have a son.
Anna dies. So does Lloyd.
Or, so Kratos thinks. With her village razed by the same cannons used in the war hundreds of years ago, it’s hard to believe there were survivors. That Anna didn’t tell him, that Lloyd was scattered somewhere they couldn’t find him… that’s not Kratos’ fault.
Five years later, WBYWKON begins. WBYWKON, or, “We Broke YWKON”, is an alternate version of YWKON explored through RP, in which ToS Sheena accidentally ends up in the wrong universe and rescues Zelos from Tethe’alla. ToS Lloyd is here, too.
On his way back to the tower, Sylvarant’s cannon goes off. Kratos is interrupted in his travels by first that, and then running into his wife, who he thought quite sure was dead. Lowkey furious at her for not telling him otherwise, and also losing track of their son, who is LITERALLY A CHILD, Kratos has a lot of bullshit to sort through. And that’s not even touching the fact that his sister—Martel—is in a cannon again, despite his promises, and also there’s an alternate version of his son here?? AND when they meet up with Mithos, he has to keep Mithos and Anna from killing each other. Wonderful!
Though we haven’t finished WBYWKON, safe to say that Mithos and Anna get better at getting along, and Kratos really adores getting to travel with Lloyd, even if it isn’t his Lloyd. Other WBYWKON things that happen: they save Colette/Martel, they bully god into rewriting the blade system, Lloyd and Sheena go home. And after, Kratos and Anna find their son, who is only 8, instead of nearly 18.
About three years pass between this and DYWC.

The team ends up somewhere that promptly drags up bad memories for all of them, but especially Kratos. He handles it poorly, especially given the stunt Shadow pulls to get him out of there. But... he appreciates Shadow trying to help.⇢ Team M: Have a feelings jam about boundaries
Kratos brings up his own boundaries regarding being touched, which turns out to be a good thing, because they're 3/4 on "actually has trauma about that" in this group. He also bonds with Riku some. Like, he's known Riku a day, and Riku's been Adopted.⇢ like super mario backflipping up a flight of stairs
Mythra explains to her team what they're doing here. Dave hates it. Kratos wishes they'd been given a choice. He also talks some about Aegises.⇢ my heart is housed in ironworks
Kratos meets with the other Kratos, the man who is god of his world (two thousand years before he becomes god) and is also the man who seriously hurt his son in an alternate universe. Kratos has A Ton Of Beef with this guy, not helped by how much of an asshole he is. Mythra spits them back off to their proper teams. In chapter 2 Kratos' team helps him decompress, which he appreciates.⇢ Anna: Reunite with your husband (Mithos can come too)
Kratos reunites with Anna and Mithos. It's great! They talk about The Other Kratos, and also a little about Malos, and Mythra, and Aegises, and nonsense.⇢ you could say something poetic about the past clinging like a cape or you could just admit nightmares blow and trauma isn't fair
Dave has a nightmare, and overreacts. Kratos quickly gets everyone moving so this doesn't go from bad to worse, but... Kratos learns more about Dave's past than he probably had the right to. It's fine, but worrying!! Kratos wishes he could help more but recognizes that Dave probably doesn't need it.
