Born in Heimdall, Martel lived there in relative peace for the start of her life. She faced occasional shunning from her full-blooded elven peers, and as she grew older began overhearing talk from the elders about how half-elves like herself and her younger brother should not be tolerated. But life in Heimdall was…
okay, for a time.
When she turned seventeen, her little brother only six years old, that’s when Heimdall decided they had enough, and threw the half-elven siblings out, barring them from ever visiting Heimdall again. Now, solely responsible for Mithos, and living in the midst of a war between humans and half-elves that the elves were denying, Martel takes her little brother and travels. They live on the streets. They learn to hunt for food, and otherwise steal what they must. Poverty is not a pretty lifestyle, and constant prejudice turned against you hardens a soul.
She and Mithos happen upon Kratos and Yuan, and the four of them team up and start traveling together, looking to find a way to end this endless war. Their plan as of current involves making pacts with the Spirits, one part to stop the war, and one part to find a way to heal the broken planet.
It’s from this point in her life Martel has been yanked and thrown into DYWC.
